Description

Altex pursues the development of novel thermal management, power systems and logistics fuels technologies, including heat exchanger components and systems and burners, fuel cell systems, combustion, gas turbines, biomass conversion to biofuels and bioplastics, pollution abatement, such as carbon sequestration and conversion, as well as systems that increase natural resource conservation.

Special details

The Altex facility has nearly 10,000 square feet of space, with approximately 60 percent devoted to production, test article preparation and testing. Altex has a nearly 3MWt test boiler system that can support burner testing, as well as an ASHRAE 33 standard heat exchanger test facility, available for testing radiators and cooling coils. Test instrumentation covers all of the equipment needed to characterize fuels and combustion system performance, including flow and temperature monitors, total sulfur analyzer, GC, and continuous gaseous emissions (CO, CO2, O2, NO, NOx and unburned hydrocarbons) monitors.
