The Emergency Landing Pad LLC (ELP LLC) designed, developed, engineered, and patented a commercial solution to assist aviation units in the safe recovery of aircraft that experience landing gear emergencies while airborne. Through root cause analysis of U.S. Naval Safety Command Investigations, ELP LLC has identified hazards caused by current aviation operations that have negatively impacted aviation and pose serious risks to personnel and equipment. In addition to reducing these risks, ELP LLC has developed a solution to reduce the costs of “maintenance man hours” by a 30:1 margin which will increase unit effectiveness. Standardizing adds predictability for pilots in an emergency.

The ELP flat top trailer with running gear consisting of four solid rubber wheels attached to two similar axles with “Double Ackerman” type steering. Equipped with a towbar and rear hitch for towing in trains. Weight is approximately 950 lbs. Overall length (towbar up) 131”. Overall length (towbar down ) 144.75”. Overall Width 53”. The ELP padding is made from closed cell foam for compression during aircraft recovery. The padding has been engineered for proper compression ratios and is engineered for each type of aircraft weight. The ELP covering is made from ENVELOP protective covering giving the ELP a minimum of 5 years of protection from UV and other environmental factors before breaking down.
