FLALAS was created to serve the Limited English proficient (LEP) population in New York State with Language Services. To better serve the community FLALAS offers professional interpreting training courses to bilingual individuals. The interpreting training, includes target terminology, ethics, cultural brokering and interpreting skills. CORE COMPETENCIES Excellent customer service, reliable, in-person, on-time, continuous interpreting, understanding of HIPAA compliance, ethics, patients privacy, cultural brokering, interpreting techniques, interpreters evaluations of performance and continuous training.
