An art historian specializing in provenance research and collection management, Kaitlyn DeLong is committed to documenting the histories of objects. She has inventoried and researched a variety of objects including paintings, prints, antique weaponry, and indigenous artifacts. Working with the latter, Ms. DeLong has developed a keen understanding of repatriation policy, and is familiar with both the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and the National Museum of the American Indian Act (NMAIA). Previously completed provenance research projects include researching native objects claimed for repatriation at the Smithsonian Institution, and an exploration of museum transparency regarding colonial collecting in the United States and the United Kingdom. Ms. DeLong has a MSc from the University of Glasgow in Art History: Collecting and Provenance in an International Context, awarded with distinction.
