Perfect occlusion is achieved with this system by the patient setting the bite with the prosthetic in the mouth. The quality of a provisional prosthetic converted with the Smart Denture method is so fine that after a few weeks of tissue healing and osseointegration of the implants, a final prosthetic can easily be created using the Smart Denture provisional prosthetic as a template. In a recent case using the Smart Denture system, an oral surgeon and a restorative prosthodontist completed a dual arch procedure involving the extraction of 20 teeth, 5 mm of alveo bone reduction, placement of 16 implants and 16 multi-unit abutments, and conversion of two dentures in just under three hours from start to finish. Using conventional conversion methods for such a case would have required the patient to be in the clinic for the entire day, ending the day with a far weaker and less attractive provisional denture.
