Turtledust Media is a black-owned and operated animation studio focused on the development and creation of black illustrated and animated content. Founded in 2003, we started by producing games within the Unreal Engine and have since freelanced across television, film, fashion, non-profit, and gaming industries. Notable projects include work on 'Biggest Loser' and 'Captain Compassion.' Based in Baltimore, Maryland, our mission is to increase black representation on screen and behind the scenes in the animation field through education, advocacy, and the application of industry-standard animation tools and techniques. Turtledust Media specializes in short-form, character-driven 2D and 3D character animation. We have experience producing 2D and 3D visual effects and motion graphics for film, television, and games. Our animation productions integrate 2D animated characters within 3D environments styled to appear 2D.
