Nationally certified signed language interpreters and cued language transliterators Melanie Metzger, Ph.D. and Earl Fleetwood, M.A. Dr. Metzger has 23 years of experience as a professor at the Department of Interpretation and Translation at Gallaudet University. where she served as department chair. Earl Fleetwood is the former director of certification for the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, the national certifying body for Signed Language interpreters. Dr. Metzger and Mr. Fleetwood are former directors of the TECUnit, the national certifying body for cued language transliterators.
