The proprietary RareScope™ provides sensitive detection of different CTC phenotypes with variable metastatic potential and isolates intact and live CTCs for further molecular analysis. It will also provide ex vivo evaluation of how cancer drugs affect live CTCs and surrounding White Blood Cells (WBCs), to aid in optimizing drug selection, before treatment is administered to the patient. The RareScope processes fluorescently immunostained cell preparations using a fully automated and user friendly interface. It is sold as a Research Use Only (RUO) medical device to cancer research institutions, pharmaceutical companies as diagnostic tool during drug development and to reference clinical laboratories for the development of Laboratory Developed Tests (LDTs).
